  1. This is an internal, informal unedited list of fixed bugs, changes and
  2. beta  notes  during  the THOR development process.  It is provided for
  3. those  who  might  find it interesting.  The timeline for this list is
  4. from the top to the bottom, with recent changes at the bottom.  Please
  5. read  the  readme  file  for  this  THOR release for an edited list of
  6. bugfixes and new features.

  12. THOR 2.3751 (31.Aug.96) 2.32ß Alpha Centauri
  13. - Fixed the crash when going to the next message on a system without any
  14.   unread messages.
  15. - When entering a name in the entermsg-window that matched 100% with a
  16.   name in the user database, the email address was not filled in. 
  17.   It's filled in now.
  18. - Fixed the bug introduced in the 2.31 "bugfix" that would move the
  19.   current message too, no matter what combination that was selected
  20.   with the Move Msgs function.
  21. - Trailing spaces on lines saved in the FSE will not be stripped 
  22.   away anymore.
  23. - Waitpointer when moving messages.
  24. - Support for the Forward event implemented in THOR. Availability
  25.   depends on the system type.
  26. - Grouped Alpha works again.
  27. - Added SYSTEM argument to the ARexx command GETMSGARRAY.
  28. - Fixed a 4 byte memory wall overwrite introduced in the previous
  29.   ARexx change
  30. - Haze level can be set on Kills too
  31. - added MLManager to the extern menu
  32. - A "Private" button for making a private reply has been added.
  33. - Due to the new button, the width of the main window is more than
  34.   640 pixels with a topaz/8 font. Therefore, THOR will setup a default
  35.   fontset based on the included fonts, if no configuration has been
  36.   saved (first time user). These fonts are not as wide as topaz/8 and
  37.   generally look better.
  38. - Cleaned up the user search code a bit when in enter/reply window.
  39. - SAVEMESSAGE from ARexx using the CURRENT argument will make
  40.   THOR reread the message from disk, instead of using the current
  41.   read message since this message can be wrapped and changed in
  42.   other ways to fit the listview.
  43. - Selecting download on TCP system configured for this event will
  44.   work better now.
  45. - When clicking on a uuencoded/MIME binary that wasn't recognized,
  46.   it would be copied to ram: automatically, which was a bug. Fixed.
  47. - Saving of MIME textparts cleaned up a bit
  48.  
  49. ConfigTHOR:
  50. - The conference config window will not "loose" vital information on the
  51.   currently selected conference after a resize anymore.

  53. THOR 2.3834 (12.Okt.96) 2.33ß Amalthea
  54. - Multiple attachment window added.
  55. - Clipboard support in string gadgets removed.
  56. - Arexx: REQUESTFILE supports multiselect now. A OUTSTEM must be provided
  57.   with multiselect.
  58. - mark-o would not work correctly in one of the grouped readmodes.
  59. - the number of unread messages should now be updated correctly on
  60.   entering a system with a system startup ARexx script that changes
  61.   the number of unread messages.
  62. - Initial quoting will only use the first 3 initials now, and only
  63.   if they are alphanumerical.
  64. - User search code changed again. Improvements?
  65. - The event window is now localized.
  66. - Moving the current message will reread it from disk so that any wrapping
  67.   of text in the listview doesn't change it.
  68. - If a Reply-To address is present and the private reply button is used, the
  69.   user can now select between using the Reply-To or the From address on the
  70.   reply.
  71. - ARexx: Fixed a problem with SAVEMESSAGE and the CURRENT argument that could
  72.   cut off lines.
  73. - ARexx: fixed the fullpath argument in REQUESTFILE when you selected a file
  74.   in the default directory.
  75. - Forward will default to the mail conference.
  76. - ARexx: Fixed a strange bug which could result in incorrect .COUNT
  77.   in the outstem variable on REQUESTLIST when you used multiselect and
  78.   had nodes with simular content. Weird case.

  80. FSE:
  81. - Enforcer hits when scrolling upwards to the top with the mouse
  82.   has been removed.
  83. - Extra empty lined previously saved with the text aren't anymore.
  84. - Moving the cursor with the mouse will restrict the movement to
  85.   the end of the text on each line.

  87. THOR 2.3994 ( 6.Nov.96) 2.4 Release Candidate 2
  88. - Reply-To: and From: address will be in the requester on reply. If they are
  89.   the same, no requester will come up.
  90. - Multiple attachments are only allowed on types with the
  91.   TDF_SUPPORTS_MULTIPLE_ATTACHMENTS flag set.
  92. - Conference names with space in them will be expanded now.
  93. - Moved attachment button in the reply/enter/forward window.
  94. - Forwarded messages that get forwarded again will not get an extra (fwd)
  95.   tagged on anymore.
  96. - Fixed a few reports of duplicate shortcuts
  97. - Some place in the past, the "Message is IMPORTANT" text in the main
  98.   listview on such messages dissapeared. It's back now.
  99. - Important/Urgent or messages to the user, will not beep anymore if the
  100.   message is marked as being from the user.
  101. - Fixed deletion of attachments
  102. - Fixed ramiga-v/c in string gadgets
  103. - Fixed to-address on reply that could dissapear.
  104. - Fixed upload to not require a description if none is needed for the type.
  105. - Fixed a ghosting problem in the event menu when using the SYSTEM option.
  106. - Fixed FSE default sizing (check that this is ok now).
  107. - Fixed ARexx requestfile multiselect
  108. - Fixed deletion of attachments when editing an event
  109. - Fixed initial quoting (again)
  110. - Fixed inline viewing of text attachments
  111. - Fixed recognition of attached archives, doesn't use bbsread
  112.   function anymore, and won't copy the file to ram: if it's not
  113.   recognized.
  114. - env:thor/thorversion and envarc:thor/thorversion are only updated
  115.   if the contents differ from the current version.
  116. - Two new options in the user database: "Encode as 7-bit" and "PGP Key ID".
  117.   These can be used to set default values if you enter messages to persons
  118.   that is in the user database.  PGP Key ID will be filled out, but not
  119.   be activated, but only if you send to a single recipient. Encode can be
  120.   used for sending to several recipients, and if atleast one of them has
  121.   this option set in the user database, all of them will get mail
  122.   encoded. Note that this is only default values and can be turned off.

  124. CfgTCP:
  125. - NNTPPORT setting wasn't saved. Fixed.

  128. GetTCP 1.37:
  129. - A minor bug that could cause base64 decode to fail was fixed.
  130. - Reports errors from the news server and the pop server as being from
  131.   NNTPD and POPD instead of NNTPSEND and POPSEND.
  132. - Tried to parse the messages twice when "Adding old messages" failed.
  133.   If one of the n.* files were cut off, messages could get parsed into the
  134.   wrong newsgroup (since 1.31).
  135. - The separator line from the temporary newsfile was added to the header
  136.   by mistake (since 1.31).
  137. - The DELETE config was ignored, only the argument was used.
  138. - 1.34 and 1.35 stripped the topmost line in the headers of most
  139.   messages.
  140. - When using the NONEWS keyword or aborting while downloading, the progress bar
  141.   stayed at 100% while parsing messages.
  142. - It was not possible to break mail retrieval using the Abort-button
  143.   (probably since 1.23).

  145. PackBlue 2.11:
  146. - The offline configuration file is only uploaded if there is a change in
  147.   active areas, i.e. a join or a resign.
  148. - Will refuse to add attachments in message areas where it is not allowed
  149.   (after parsing a packet).
  150. - Netmail addresses were incorrect.  Some flags were incorrect, causing
  151.   trouble for attachments and join/resign.
  152. - Checks that length of attachment filenames is no more than 12 characters.
  153. - Download events were ignored.
  154. - The xpert, graphics etc flags were garbeled.
  155. - Netmail flag was not set.
  156. - Point was missing from netmail adresses.
  157. - Configure System events handeled.
  158. - Because of an error in the bluewave docs (or is it the Maximus bluewave
  159.   door?) the version string came out wrong.  Now changed to work with the
  160.   Maximus door, i.e. not as in the official bluewave documentation.

  162. PackSOUP 1.20:
  163. - Always adds a CR to the end of the lines, since some installations
  164.   had problems with CRLF.
  165. - Unsets the error flag if a previously error marked event is
  166.   successfully packed.
  167. - Accepts FORWARD events.
  168.  
  169. ParseBlue 2.6:
  170. - Areas could be marked as fido netmail by mistake.
  171.  
  172. SendTCP 1.26:
  173. - Up/download events.
  174. - If BCC: was upper case, it would fail.
  175. - Sendtcp will now fail if the configured email address doesn't contain a
  176.   '@'.
  177. - Unsets the error flag if a previously error marked event is
  178.   successfully done.
  179. - Fixed a bug in the ftp part which would cause readme files on .tar.gz
  180.   and .tar.Z files not to be up/downloaded.
  181. - Accepts FORWARD events.
  182. - If an event failed in the creating temporary files phase, it could get
  183.   sent off and/or be marked as done.
  184. - Subsequent news postings were not attempted whenever a newsposting
  185.   failed.  The same error as in the first posting were reported for the
  186.   others.
  187. - Added NOFTP keyword.
  188. - Multiple attachment handling changed to support the single tag kludge.
  189. - Download/upload events were deleted when the NOFTP keyword was used.
  190.   Failing download/upload events were not retried.
  191.  
  192. SendUUCP 1.6:
  193. - Unsets the error flag if a previously error marked event is
  194.   successfully done.
  195. - Accepts FORWARD events.

  197. ConnectTHOR 2.200 ( 8.Nov.96)
  198. - The portname no longer gets the spaces stripped.
  199. - UUEncoded files downloaded in the browser are now decoded (Forgot to set a flag).
  200. - No longer disables send events.
  201. - Deleting from the hotlist editor with no entries in the list will not crash
  202.   anymore.
  203. - CHECKDELAY=0 will not crash anymore.
  204. - Works with INet225/AS225r2 again.
